Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that defies traditional expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the authorized statement, "An unusual confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of banned rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden group.
The questline concentrates on "bizarre tests and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an special katana together with numerous objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Content
This patch also brings the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
Earlier Anime Partnerships
This marks scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime franchises. The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially featured a quest that clearly referenced the famous series One-Punch Man.
