An extensive extended journey circling the Land Down Under is being halted days after the death of an elderly woman who was stranded by the ship on a distant coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on the remote island with shipmates from the cruise ship, but broke off from the group for a break. The ship sailed away leaving her and came back later that day after the ship staff became aware the lady was not present.

A large-scale rescue mission located her remains the subsequent day.

Authorities are looking into the event, in coordination with law enforcement and the medical examiner.

Head of the voyage organizer announced that travelers and staff on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the continuation of the voyage had been terminated due to the "unfortunate death and prior mechanical issues".

Via official communication, he added that guests would be given a full refund, and said the organization was working "to arrange the travel back of the travelers via specially arranged planes".

Authorities also released an updated announcement, and said they had "provided a notice to the Captain" banning any further travelers from boarding the liner.

The official said that they would inspect the liner in the port city upon its arrival.

Timeline of Events

The ship originally sailed from Cairns on 24 October, and was just two days into the voyage at the moment of the 80-year-old's demise. The tropical location was the initial destination on the journey.

Passengers on the ship - who generally pay large sums of dollars to join the voyage - were taken there for a daily excursion with the option of walking or underwater exploration.

Relatives Response

The offspring of the deceased woman said that her relatives was "shocked and grieved that the liner left Lizard Island after an scheduled excursion without my mum".

Via her announcement, she described her parent as an "vigorous octogenarian" who was a participant of a walking club.

"According to scant facts we have been informed, it appears that there was a lapse of responsibility and common sense," she mentioned.

She further stated that she desired the investigation would be able to identify what "the organization should have performed that might have preserved Mum's being".

"Based on information from the police that it was a very hot afternoon, and she became unwell on the mountain ascent," she revealed.

"Officials suggested her to return, alone. Then the ship departed, seemingly without conducting a roll call.
