PSG Edges Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Secure French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG has now secured the prestigious cup on 14 separate times.

The Parisian giants required a dramatic leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to get past their arch-rivals in Kuwait and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup victory.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a comfortable triumph in the match between the French league winners and the Coupe de France winners after Ousmane Dembele opened the net in the opening stages.

However, the southern French side fired twice late to take a surprise advantage. Initially, the English forward converted from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable turn of fortune, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a crucial equaliser in the dying seconds to send the contest into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, saving decisive attempts from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a convincing penalty win.

The record champions Paris Saint-Germain, who faced last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now lifted this trophy for the twelfth time in the last thirteen seasons.
