The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Predictions β With Some Good News
The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been intense.
The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.
That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions β but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.
"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. [β¦] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season β particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
